Senior Associate (Tax & Audit)

Direct Hire role with our client located South of Pittsburgh, PA.

Work Environment: Hybrid/Remote

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead audits, reviews, and compilations across various industries; direct fieldwork and supervise audit phases.
  • Broad experience in public accounting; include attest engagements, tax compliance, research and planning
  • Maintain active communication with clients, manage expectations, and provide business/process improvement recommendations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise audit engagements; inform supervisors of status and proactively manage change.
  • Analyze and prepare financial statements; evaluate internal controls and handle moderately complex audits.
  • Complete tax/audit projects with minimal oversight; conduct thorough engagement reviews and propose solutions to issues.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff and interns; delegate tasks and provide feedback.
  • Use technology for learning and knowledge sharing; seek training to enhance industry specific skills.
  • Develop and maintain productive client relationships; proactively maintain contact and assess satisfaction.
  • Identify operational improvements, risks, and issues; research and analyze accounting/audit issues; utilize analytics tools for client insights.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • 4–7 years in public accounting required; salary based on experience.
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting; CPA preferred or actively pursuing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, QuickBooks Online, and Thomson Reuters Product Suite a plus; experience with online tax research tools.
  • Experience in attest engagements, tax compliance, research, and planning.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively; accepts responsibility and meets deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; personable and ambitious.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects and monitor time spent.
  • Capable of supervising, training, and mentoring staff; strong teamwork and leadership dedication.
  • Experience with data extraction, analytics, and data visualization.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and adapt to industry changes; detail-oriented and driven for high standards.
