Senior Associate (Audit & Tax) - Denver, CO
Who:
We are seeking a proactive, organized professional with 3+ years of experience—preferably in public accounting—who excels at managing multiple projects and communicating effectively.

You will lead audit engagements, prepare and review tax returns, conduct technical research, support tax consulting projects, and deliver high-quality audit and tax compliance services.

Salary:
Base compensation ranges from $75,000–$90,000/year, depending on skills, experience, and location.
Position Overview:
The Senior Associate (Audit & Tax) will supervise audit engagements, prepare and review tax filings, manage client communications, support consulting projects, and help guide junior staff while contributing to business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise audit engagements across various industries.

Develop and execute audit programs by defining objectives, identifying risks, evaluating controls, and designing test procedures.

Conduct technical accounting research across a variety of topics.

Prepare and review Federal and state corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.

Assist with ASC 740 income tax provisions.

Perform tax consulting projects including permanent establishment and nexus analyses.

Stay current with tax law changes and perform in-depth research.

Act as a client contact, handling inquiries, notices, and requests.

Manage multiple engagements with accuracy and high-quality standards.

Maintain proactive communication to ensure client satisfaction.

Delegate and oversee work effectively, removing obstacles and setting clear goals.

Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff.

Collaborate with partners and senior managers on proposals and business development.
Required Skills & Experience:

3+ years of professional experience, preferably in public accounting.

BA/BS in Accounting or Master’s in Accounting/Taxation.

Excellent English writing, research, and communication skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-oriented mindset.

Effective organizational and multitasking skills.

Positive, collaborative team attitude.
Preferred Skills & Experience:

Experience in both audit and tax engagements.

Experience in manufacturing and distribution.

CPA license or similar certification (preferred).

German language skills helpful but not required.

ProSystem fx Engagement and CCH Axcess experience.
