This top-tier AmLaw150 firm is seeking an ambitious, highly skilled Government Contracts Associate to enhance our expert team. As a central member of our team, you will handle complex legal matters in government contracts, providing a pivotal role in supporting clients across aerospace/defense, life sciences/pharmaceuticals, construction, and manufacturing industries. Salary: $350,000.00 - $550,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and conduct bid protests, ensuring in-depth analysis and strategic guidance.
- Address issues regarding cybersecurity in compliance with current laws and regulations.
- Oversee acquisition regulation compliance, including FAR and DFARS.
- Draft, revise, and negotiate Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs) and claims.
- Provide detailed claims analysis and counseling to clients, supporting CDA claim litigation processes.
- Navigate federal subcontracting, dispute resolution, compliance, and flow-down issues.
- Handle multiple award contract issues effectively, offering strategic legal advice.
- Support the procurement processes for small businesses, ensuring compliance and maximized opportunities.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- 4-5 years' experience in government contracts law, preferably within a law firm setting.
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional writing ability.
- Rich background in handling bid protests, cybersecurity compliance, and acquisition regulation.
- Experience in drafting REAs, claims, and involvement in CDA claim litigation.
- Robust understanding of federal subcontracting and compliance issues.
- Excellent academic credentials required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace/defense, infrastructure/construction, life sciences/pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industries.
- Virginia State Bar admission or eligibility.
- Proven track record of working independently on complex legal matters.
- A dynamic self-starter with a demonstrated interest in developing 'thought leadership' skills.
