Senior Associate - Government Contracts Law

This top-tier AmLaw150 firm is seeking an ambitious, highly skilled Government Contracts Associate to enhance our expert team. Salary: $350,000.00 - $550,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and conduct bid protests, ensuring in-depth analysis and strategic guidance.
  • Address issues regarding cybersecurity in compliance with current laws and regulations.
  • Oversee acquisition regulation compliance, including FAR and DFARS.
  • Draft, revise, and negotiate Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs) and claims.
  • Provide detailed claims analysis and counseling to clients, supporting CDA claim litigation processes.
  • Navigate federal subcontracting, dispute resolution, compliance, and flow-down issues.
  • Handle multiple award contract issues effectively, offering strategic legal advice.
  • Support the procurement processes for small businesses, ensuring compliance and maximized opportunities.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years' experience in government contracts law, preferably within a law firm setting.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional writing ability.
  • Rich background in handling bid protests, cybersecurity compliance, and acquisition regulation.
  • Experience in drafting REAs, claims, and involvement in CDA claim litigation.
  • Robust understanding of federal subcontracting and compliance issues.
  • Excellent academic credentials required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in aerospace/defense, infrastructure/construction, life sciences/pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industries.
  • Virginia State Bar admission or eligibility.
  • Proven track record of working independently on complex legal matters.
  • A dynamic self-starter with a demonstrated interest in developing 'thought leadership' skills.
