Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with a strong background in account reconciliations. This role will be performing reconciliations for up to 20 accounts, maintaining general ledger integrity, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate also has experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or Costpoint, has a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and great communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex reconciliations of accounts, including bank, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data in Deltek Vantagepoint and other accounting systems.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and assist in financial statement preparation.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards.
- Work closely with project managers, finance teams, and leadership to ensure financial accuracy and adherence to budgets.
- Assist with audit preparation and ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency in reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Support additional accounting functions as needed, including AP/AR and payroll reconciliation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a project-based or professional services environment.
- Strong proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint (or Deltek Costpoint/Vision) is required.
- Advanced knowledge of account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Understanding of GAAP accounting principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
- Experience in government contracting or professional services accounting.
