Senior Accountant

Our Charlotte-based manufacturing client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. This position will play a key role in the month-end close process, fixed asset accounting, inventory and manufacturing accounting activities, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing accounting principles, experience working within an ERP environment (SAP required), and the ability to partner cross-functionally with operations and plant leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
• Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, asset disposals, and reconciliations.
• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset subledger to the general ledger.
• Assist with inventory accounting and manufacturing cost analysis.
• Analyze production variances, labor variances, material usage, and overhead allocations.
• Support standard costing processes and inventory valuation activities.
• Partner with plant operations and manufacturing leadership to improve financial visibility and controls.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and annual audit requests.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Leverage SAP to extract, analyze, and report financial information.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience with fixed asset accounting required.
• Experience working with SAP required.
• Knowledge of inventory accounting, standard cost accounting, and manufacturing finance concepts.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
