A stable and growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support core financial reporting and technical accounting activities. This role is well-suited for an accounting professional with hands-on experience in leases and fixed assets who values accuracy, structure, and operational excellence.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial records, performing reconciliations, preparing financial reporting support, and assisting with audit and analysis activities. This position offers exposure to technical accounting, cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to contribute to process improvements within a hybrid work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee lease accounting and fixed asset activity, including capital project authorization and asset capitalization
- Review, approve, and record transactions related to leases and fixed assets in accordance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies
- Prepare and post journal entries supporting lease and fixed asset accounting
- Perform monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts
- Support preparation of financial statement disclosures and footnotes
- Respond to internal and external audit requests related to assigned areas
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting activities
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to support management decision-making
- Participate in interim and annual audit processes
- Support ad hoc accounting projects and process improvement initiatives as needed
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE , AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA preferred but not required
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including lease accounting (ASC 842)
- Hands-on experience with fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations
- Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel
- Experience working within large ERP environments (e.g., SAP or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
