The Opportunity

Our client, a billion-dollar, private equity-backed company headquartered in Charlotte, is seeking a talented Senior Accountant to join its growing accounting and finance team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to gain broad exposure within a large, fast-paced organization. The Senior Accountant will play an important role in the monthly close and financial reporting processes while partnering with accounting leadership on process improvements, special projects, and initiatives supporting the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Accounting Manager in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis and investigate significant or unusual variances.
• Assist with the preparation of internal and external financial reporting.
• Maintain supporting documentation and ensure accounting transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
• Partner with operational and finance teams to research accounting issues and improve the quality and timeliness of financial information.
• Support annual audits and respond to requests from external auditors.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, strengthen controls, and improve reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Approximately 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with an ERP or large accounting system.
• Experience with a large, complex, multi-entity organization.
