Senior Accountant

Dynamic non-profit in the Tri-Cities is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and mentoring the AP Coordinator.

What you will do

  • Mentor A/P Coordinator
  • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash management and reporting.
  • Conduct General Ledger analysis and prepare adjusting journal entries as required.
  • Assist in developing and refining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and grant requirements.
  • Review partner invoices for accuracy and ensure appropriate supporting documentation is provided.
  • Support the Director of Finance in the following areas:
    • Month-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
    • Preparation of financial statements and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Development of annual budgets and periodic forecasting.
    • Facilitation of audit and tax return preparation, ensuring readiness and compliance.

What you need

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university, required.

Experience:

  • 3 – 5 years of accounting experience; experience with non-profit entities is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Comp to 87,500 plus a great healthcare and PTO policies
