Dynamic non-profit in the Tri-Cities is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and mentoring the AP Coordinator.
What you will do
- Mentor A/P Coordinator
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash management and reporting.
- Conduct General Ledger analysis and prepare adjusting journal entries as required.
- Assist in developing and refining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and grant requirements.
- Review partner invoices for accuracy and ensure appropriate supporting documentation is provided.
- Support the Director of Finance in the following areas:
- Month-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
- Preparation of financial statements and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Development of annual budgets and periodic forecasting.
- Facilitation of audit and tax return preparation, ensuring readiness and compliance.
What you need
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university, required.
Experience:
- 3 – 5 years of accounting experience; experience with non-profit entities is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
