The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and work closely with the CFO.

Construction Accounting

• Management of job cost systems, including inputting data, reconciling accounts, and analyzing variances.
• Review all invoices for accurate coding.
• Monitor project budgets and identify potential cost overruns.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for construction projects.
• Assist with project closeouts, including final invoicing and lien releases.

Real Estate Accounting

• Prepare journal entries for rent vacancies, property taxes, insurance, and other property-related expenses.
• Maintain accurate property records, including leases, insurance policies, and maintenance contracts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliations in a timely manner.
• Prepare supporting documentation for audits.

Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration desired.
• A minimum of 3 years experience with job costing.
• CPA or other relevant certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of real estate accounting software packages.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Yardi
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours week and flexibility to work additional time depending on company needs and workload.
• Friendly, helpful team player with a positive, customer-service attitude.
• Dependable, with an excellent attendance track record.
• Exercise good judgment and take initiative to properly address and resolve issues.
• Use discretion with personal and personnel matters
