Senior Accountant
Looking for an excellent career path! In this role, you are responsible for and will impact many aspects of GL activities, month-end and bank reconciliations, financial statement prep and analysis, and assist with budget activities. Frequent ad hoc projects are common in this role. Position is open due to promotion. Looking for someone to groom into a controller-type role as our recent organic growth and future new product launch has increased the leadership needs in accounting. Must be a strategic thinker who wants to help grow a great mid-size company!
Key Contributions:
- Play key role in month-end close procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, reporting
- Evaluate and ensure financial activities adhere to company policies and meet GAAP requirements; advise management of opportunities to improve processes for long-term compliance
- Assist with financial statement preparation and tax reporting
- Work closely with external auditors
- Indirectly supervise and mentor accounting specialists/clerks to improve overall talent of team
- Other finance projects and analysis as assigned
Current Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required
- 2-4 years of experience in public accounting, or 4+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting
- Active CPA or minimum requirements met for CPA is preferred, but not required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to dig deep into details
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks; self-starter who takes initiative
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, listening
- Team player at all levels in our organization
- Proactive thinker, especially as it relates to process improvement, cost reduction, and time savers
- Excellent Excel, Word, and Outlook skills; technically savvy
