Senior Accountant

Carolina PRG has partnered with a reputable property management company in the South Charlotte area in their search for a Senior Accountant. This individual will work heavily in the general accounting and financial reporting functions for the organization reporting to the Corporate Controller.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and summarize financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss statements and cash flow statements on a monthly basis for complex funds and entity structures.
• Identify inefficiencies and provide innovative solutions that transform manual workflows into streamlined outputs.
• Investigate variances in financial statements and report to accounting/operational management.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and review/post journal entries.
• Prepare supporting documentation in response to external audit and tax preparation requests.
• Review and reconcile multiple bank accounts.
• Research and reconcile credit card activities.
• Prepare sales and use tax returns.
• Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare and filing of personal property tax returns.
• Treasury functions including cash consolidation and wire transfers.
• Assist in construction accounting & capitalization of fixed assets.
• Leverage Excel-driven financial analysis, using advanced Excel skills.
• Ad hoc projects and reports as assigned.

Background requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience required.
• Experience with enterprise level accounting system such as MS Dynamics, Yardi, Netsuite, MRI and/or other accounting software preferred.
• Active CPA license or willingness to pursue CPA license preferred.
• Strong Excel skills including V-Lookup functions, Pivot Tables, and build dynamic formula driven models.
• Experience with and aptitude for continuous improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Must be detail oriented, organized and able to adapt within a highly dynamic environment.
