Carolina PRG has partnered with a locally based $100M PE backed headquarters in the industrial supplier and manufacturing space to help them compliment their tenured & talented accounting team with a Senior Accountant. This role reports to the Accounting Manager and serves as a key business partner across multiple functions. The Senior Accountant will play a central role in core financial operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, data analysis, and compliance. The position also offers meaningful visibility within the organization, with opportunities to contribute to system implementations, acquisition-related work, and cross-functional initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements—including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements—to ensure accuracy and alignment with applicable accounting standards.

  • Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

  • Oversee monthly commissions calculations and related accruals, while supporting internal teams with inquiries.

  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of sales and use tax obligations, including oversight of tax automation tools.

  • Support merger and acquisition activities, including integration of acquired entities, alignment of accounting policies, and onboarding of processes and systems.

  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with all relevant requirements.

  • Develop, improve, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

  • Monitor updates to GAAP and IFRS and ensure compliance with all applicable standards.

  • Build effective partnerships with internal leaders and key stakeholders across the business.

  • Provide analytical support, financial insights, and decision-making guidance for ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, accuracy, and process enhancement.

  • Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and financial materials for senior leadership and external stakeholders.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior-level role.

  • Strong understanding of core accounting and finance principles.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-changing environment.

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and strong skills in PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong project management capabilities.

  • High level of ownership, initiative, and commitment to delivering results.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly job-shop or project-based settings, preferred.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • CPA or CMA preferred.

  • Experience in public accounting highly valued.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced analysis.

  • Authorization to work in the United States.
