Senior Accountant
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team. This role will be responsible for managing job cost accounting, month-end close, payroll processing, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and support of construction operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, experience in the construction industry, and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with project managers, operations leaders, and executive leadership.
Experience with construction accounting systems, job costing, and Acumatica is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities. Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers.
- Support annual financial audits, reviews, and tax preparation activities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Maintain accurate project cost records and job cost reporting.
- Assist project managers with job cost analysis and budget reviews.
- Support monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting.
- Assist with revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion accounting.
- Prepare project profitability analyses and management reports.
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for field and office employees. Process payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations.
- Administer payroll deductions, garnishments, and benefit withholdings. Maintain payroll tax records and assist with payroll tax filings.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Support progress billing, time-and-material billing, and change order billing processes. Maintain retainage schedules and billing records.
- Assist with customer collections and resolution of billing disputes.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Support accounting activities across multiple legal entities.
- Prepare monthly management reports and financial analyses.
- Support cash flow reporting and forecasting activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience performing account reconciliations and month-end close.
- Construction industry accounting experience.
- Experience with job costing and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting.
- Experience processing payroll.
- Acumatica ERP experience.
- Multi-entity accounting experience.
- Certified payroll and prevailing wage experience.

Expected Compensation Range (Seattle Market)
$85,000 - $110,000 annually
