They are currently seeking a Senior Accountant, for a 14 month term, working within a more extensive accounting department.

As Senior Accountant, you will report to the to the Finance Manager and support all areas of the monthly accounting requirements. You will be held accountable to meeting tight closing deadlines for month end, and work with managers to ensure all information is available for timely reporting. As part of a larger accounting team, you will act as the main point of contact for all financial matters related to the delegated business units. Your strong understanding of internal controls and the application to accounting operations and financial statements is needed. The Senior Accountant will also assist with the forecasting and budget process and review variances. Working and coaching a junior team of accounts, you will review journal entries and maintain the general ledger, while taking on the more complex transactions. Documenting any difficult accounting issues and working with the audit team to for quarter and year end close will be part of this role. As part of the larger accounting team, you will work closely with consolidations, reporting, FP&A and other departments to ensure accuracy in reporting. The Ideal Candidate will thrive in a busy environment. The Senior Accountant will love to mentor and work with developing a junior team, and gain the opportunity to supervise some work. Excellent communication and time management skills will be needed and you history of taking initiative and “think outside the box” will be leveraged. You will bring over 5 years of experience coming from a complex and changing organization that is used to tight deadlines and shifting priorities. Some OT will be required during month, quarter & year end. We are looking for a designated CPA or ACCA who would be interested in a 14 month term. Your knowledge of IFRS will be expected and SOX controls a huge asset. Your proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel is critical. Competitive salary and benefits will be offered.
