We are looking for a Senior Accountant to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Our client is hiring a Senior Accountant for a hybrid position based in Cleveland, Ohio. This role requires strong manufacturing accounting experience, including cost accounting, inventory analysis, and production‑related financial support. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, supporting operations, and strengthening accounting processes across the organization.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a blend of hands‑on accounting work and operational partnership within a manufacturing environment.

Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will support general ledger activities, cost accounting processes, month‑end close, and internal financial reporting. This individual will collaborate closely with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to analyze production costs, understand inventory movements, and provide insights that support decision‑making. The role offers hybrid flexibility but requires regular interaction with manufacturing operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead key aspects of the month‑end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules
  • Support manufacturing accounting, including standard cost maintenance, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and internal management reports
  • Partner with plant operations to understand cost drivers, production trends, and KPI performance
  • Analyze material, labor, and overhead fluctuations and recommend improvements
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost‑related modeling
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Assist with audit preparation and external auditor requests
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and ERP optimization efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–6+ years of accounting experience, including mandatory experience in manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and inventory accounting
  • Experience working with plant operations and manufacturing leadership
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and familiarity with ERP systems
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required
