Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Clifton, NJ

Salary: $90-$105k base plus discretionary bonus

Benefits: PTO, 401K, Healthcare, pension plan, etc.
Onsite: M-F, Flex hours (7-3:30; 7:30-4, etc.)

Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Northern NJ. Construction background is a big plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations and month-end close.
• Generate monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Resolve account reconciliation variances.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Review monthly financials for unusual trends, fluctuations, and inconsistencies.
• Perform monthly variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
• Develop recurring financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
• Compile financial data for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes.
• Evaluate job cost reports for accuracy and proper allocation.
• Investigate cost variances.
• Assist with WIP schedules and project performance reporting.
• Maintain and distribute Time & Material and Change Order pricing schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Construction background is a big plus but not required.
• Strong Excel skills
