Our client is a growing, $30 million dollar professional services company looking for a Senior Accountant with a strong knowledge of Quickbooks to be responsible for all the Accounting and Financial Operations of the company. This position reports directly to the President of the company and will play an integral role in company growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations

  • Provide exceptional customer service both internally and externally, ensuring accuracy of work and a timely response to any questions or issues that arise.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range department goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
  • Manage semi-monthly payroll process and associated reporting. (This may be outsourced)
  • Manage the company’s general liability and other corporate insurance policies; oversee the annual renewal of all policies; complete audits and provided updated census data as needed; ensure proper billing and follow up on premium adjustments/credits as necessary.
  • Maintain vendor and customer relations.
  • Manage accounts receivable process; follow up on past-due invoices as necessary. Manage intercompany invoicing process.
  • Oversee accounts payable process, providing backup to Finance Manager as needed. Work with Finance Manager and planners to ensure the highest level of Bill.com utilization. Provide assistance with resolving Bill.com or other payment-related issues.
  • Oversee bank treasury management systems including fraud control, wire transfers, and stop payments.
  • Manage bank deposits, pick up mail weekly at the Oldsmar office.
  • Ensure timely submission of quarterly/annual census reports, monthly sales tax payments, etc.
  • Provide assistance to the company accountant on reconciliation questions/issues; provide data and supporting documentation as needed for governmental loan applications.
  • Complete reconciliation of payroll/insurance invoices on a regular basis and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Participate in budget and forecasting discussions as requested.
  • Manage electronic retention of company records.
  • Ensure internal control compliance. Attend client compliance meetings to ensure all external and internal compliance guidelines and policies are met with each project.
  • Work on special projects and assist with year-end financial preparation.

Requirements

  • BS Accounting, Finance, or similar
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounting/bookkeeping role
  • Experience with QuickBooks/QuickBooks Online preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well and interact with team members at all levels
  • Ability to demonstrate sound and accurate judgment
  • Strong commitment to the corporate mission/goals and a thorough understanding of the company’s work

Location: Remote but they can also work in our office in Tampa.
