Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the growing Finance team led by the CFO and Controller. The Finance team works closely with the Company's investment, operations and investor relations teams and directly communicates with the Founder/CEO and COO. This position is based in Washington, DC and will require some travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements and workbooks for managed funds
  • Monitor and respond to investor requests including working directly with the investor relations team on active fundraising
  • Prepare and review capital call and distribution notices and allocations for limited partner investors
  • Assist with the quarterly portfolio company valuation process and prepare quarterly portfolio monitoring data for senior management
  • Cash monitoring and liquidity management including preparing and tracking investment funding and distributions
  • Prepare and review cash, accrual, and amortization journal entries
  • Track, maintain and improve controls, documentation and record-keeping
  • Assist with the coordination of fund service providers including audit, tax, custody, valuation and portfolio monitoring
  • Ad hoc responsibilities and analysis as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with exceptional academic performance
  • 2-5 years of accounting experience; fund accounting (venture capital or private equity) experience is preferred
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • CPA or progress toward designation is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Investran experience is preferred
  • High ethical standards
  • The ability to effectively multi-task, manage deadlines, learn quickly and communicate clearly

Salary Range: $105k-115k + 10% bonus
