Our client is a VC Backed Medical Services corporation that is the leader in their category. They are looking for a strong Senior Accountant. The role is a critical contributor responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the Company’s financial records and reporting in accordance with GAAP. This role goes beyond transactional accounting and is designed for a high-performing professional who can own complex accounting areas, apply technical judgment, and drive continuous improvement across close, reporting, and control processes. A successful Senior Accountant is intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and capable of operating independently while partnering cross-functionally with Finance, FP&A, Operations, HR/Payroll, and external auditors.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for key balance sheet and P&L accounts.
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes and continuous improvement of close processes.
- Perform variance and flux analysis, investigate drivers of change, and clearly communicate explanations to management. · Responsible for invoice creation, submission, and monitoring of the Company’s receivables aging
- Write, modify and generate general ledger reports as needed
- Participates in the development and documentation of formal accounting policies, procedures, and technical accounting memorandums to support audit and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with FP&A and Reporting teams on ERP enhancements, reporting optimization, and close efficiency initiatives.
- Assist with implementation and monitoring of internal controls to mitigate fraud risk and ensure SOX compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 3 - 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA certification strongly preferred
- Big 4 public accounting experience highly preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
- Experience with procurement/vendor onboarding/spend management platforms (ZIP preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, data analysis); ability to work with large data sets
- High intellectual curiosity and ability to think critically beyond transactional processing.
