CBIZ Talent & Compensation Solutions is assisting our public accounting firm client in their search for a Senior Accountant-Tax in Melville, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling tax preparation and providing monthly accounting services to their clients. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and excellent client service skills. This is a full time, on-site role.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Advise clients on tax planning and tax-saving opportunities.
• Research complex tax issues and provide solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest changes in tax legislation and regulations.
• Manage and maintain accurate financial records for clients.
• Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist clients with budget preparation and financial forecasting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a public accounting firm.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
