A privately held organization in the Charlotte area is seeking a Senior Accountant / Accounting Supervisor to join its growing team. Key Responsibilities

Core Accounting & Reporting

  • Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to GAAP.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with consolidated financial statements and internal management reporting.
  • Work with the leadership team with the development of the budget & quarterly forecast.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for financial fluctuations.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls across accounting processes.

Supervisory & Leadership

  • Serve as a resource for technical accounting questions and problem-solving.
  • Help build a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.

Process Improvement & Operational Support

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and documentation of procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

Compliance & Audit

  • Coordinate with external CPA firm
  • Assist with tax-related schedules and compliance requirements as needed.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally working for a small to mid-seize private company.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Advanced Excel and Systems skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and organizational abilities.
