Our Client is an Ottawa-based accounting firm that provides exceptional service for individual and corporate clients in all areas of accounting, audit, tax, finance, management consulting and financial planning. As Senior Accountant, you will coordinate with clients for audit preparation & planning. You will prepare working papers to support income tax returns for personal/corporate clients, complete the client’s financial statements, and note disclosures and notice to readers for audit reviews. You will leverage your strong interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with clients across industries on an ongoing basis. You will prepare and finalize all corporate and personal tax returns and recommend new business processes and best practices to create more business efficiencies. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring junior staff through client engagements and maintaining status reports on assignments as requested. You will participate in internal committees to provide ongoing insight and feedback for improvements to ensure company objectives are being met.

The Ideal Candidate is currently pursuing or has already achieved their CPA designation and desires to work with entrepreneurial businesses with a minimum of two years’ public accounting experience. The Candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be committed to continuous learning. They will have demonstrated skills in working well in a team environment and can establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues. They will genuinely enjoy public accounting and being a lead member of an engagement team.

We have an immediate opening for a CPA or CPA Student, close to completion, who is looking for the required experience to get them through the designation “end zone”. You will bring a minimum of 2 years of experience working within a public accounting firm and understand the workflow requirements, audit preparation and tax. You will have tremendous customer service skills and believe in delivering an excellent client experience that is on brand and professional. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills and a proven track record of getting things done while going the extra mile is highly desirable. This role requires the Senior Accountant to work with clients, internal staff and partners. Your communication skills and willingness to learn and research new problems will be expected.
