**Position Overview:**
Reporting to the Director of Accounting and Finance, this Senior Accountant position is a key role within our organization, with significant visibility and potential for growth into the Assistant Controller role. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining and balancing subsidiary accounts, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger, and completing month-end closing procedures for all entities.

**Essential Functions:**
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensure absolute integrity of the general ledger.
- Facilitate and complete month-end closing procedures for all entities.
- Maintain various spreadsheets to support financial transactions and analysis.
- Prepare and record monthly journal entries.
- Develop, analyze, and maintain new payroll processes.
- Maintain integrity of timekeeping & compensation system.
- Prepare payroll files, accounting files, records, and schedules for biweekly payrolls.
- Review and resolve any payroll discrepancies.
- Ensure compensation is correctly set in the scheduling/timekeeping system.
- Participate in payroll audits.
- Answer employee, administration, or vendor questions concerning payroll.
- Prepare monthly financial reports.
- Assist with external financial audits.
- Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Participate in continuing education.

**Required Skills/Abilities:**
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- A minimum of 4 years experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office 365.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized in work.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in healthcare is a plus.
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction.
- Ability to analyze information and communicate financial performance insights to the executive team.
- Ability to meet all organizational deadlines.
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and improve existing business processes.
- Ability to problem-solve and resolve discrepancies.
