Senior Account Manager (SAM) – Freight Brokerage

Role Overview

The Senior Account Manager role is designed for proven cradle-to-grave freight brokers who consistently maintain a monthly gross margin of $20,000 or more.

SAMs retain full ownership of customer relationships while leveraging dedicated operational support to remove day-to-day freight execution. This structure allows Senior Account Managers to focus on new business development, account growth, and long-term revenue expansion while maintaining accountability for service quality and margin.

This is not a service only or farming role. Senior Account Managers are expected to continue bringing on new business while scaling and strengthening existing customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Cradle to Grave Ownership and Leverage

· Maintain full ownership of customer relationships and account strategy

· Oversee freight execution while delegating day-to-day operations to support teams

· Maintain accountability for service quality, margin, and customer satisfaction

New Business Development

· Prospect, and onboard new customer accounts

· Build and maintain a self-generated sales pipeline

· Drive revenue growth through new customer acquisition and account expansion

Account Strategy and Growth

· Set pricing strategies and negotiate rates

· Identify opportunities to expand lanes, modes, and volume

· Partner with internal teams to scale accounts efficiently

Leadership and Internal Partnership

· Lead a dedicated support pod aligned to your book of business

· Provide direction and feedback to operational partners

· Ensure execution aligns with customer expectations and growth goals

Support Structure (Unlocked at $20K+ Monthly GP)

· Customer Service Representative

· Carrier Sales Support

· Track and Trace Team

· After Hours Coverage

· Weekend Support

Qualifications

· Minimum one year of experience in freight brokerage

· Active book producing $20K+ monthly GP

· Proven ability to bring on new business

· Cradle to grave brokerage experience

· Strong communication and negotiation skills

· Comfortable in a performance-driven, high ownership environment

· Ability to lead through influence rather than authority

· Comfortable delegating execution while maintaining accountability

· Strong decision-making skills related to pricing, service, and margin
