Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the COO of a full-service transportation company offering full truckload, van, LTL, heavy haul, flatbed, and logistics division services.
The Senior Account Manager will be responsible for developing business and relationships with assigned accounts as well as soliciting for new business. They will also be responsible to build a team consisting of order entry/CSR, carrier sales, and account managers. Essential functions include: Maximize revenue/gross profit opportunities with each customer assigned in CRM; Maintain continual contact (weekly) with all customers assigned in CRM; Document contact with customers in CRM; Maintain accurate contact list in CRM and notate contacts appropriately so they receive Buchanan correspondence; Study and understand the company’s sales process (customer procurement process) to fully understand and follow all duties assigned; Coordinate rating with customer and Pricing team (when necessary); Coordinate timely submission of all RFPs (ultimate responsibility for RFP submission lies with the account manager); Maintain account integrity and work with Credit to successfully resolve any payment issues on accounts; Timely submit credit requests to Credit for new customers; Coordinate customer reviews with site director and director of operations, as requested; Provide guidance and training to less experienced personnel, as needed; Work independently, with little direction from management.

Background Required:
  • Brokerage Sales and Account Management (3 years)
  • Mode of Transportation (i.e. Flat, Van and Specialized – Over-Dimensional, TL, LTL)
  • Verifiable growth track record
  • Pricing and Margin Integrity
  • Negotiations
  • Computer literate: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Location: Coppell, TX (DFW Metroplex)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • CRM Tools (i.e. ACT, Salesforce.com)
  • McLeod TMS
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
