Senior Account Manager - Nonwovens

Upside Search is partnering with a global industrial technology manufacturer to identify a Senior Account Manager who will lead aftermarket sales across an established nationwide customer base.

This is not a traditional greenfield sales position. The company already has equipment installed throughout major customer manufacturing facilities, providing this individual with an existing book of business and significant recurring revenue potential. The focus will be on deepening customer relationships, identifying parts and service opportunities, protecting business from aftermarket competitors, and increasing share of wallet across the installed base.

This is a newly created position, giving the successful candidate an opportunity to help shape the company’s North American aftermarket strategy. The territory will initially cover the United States, with the potential to expand into Canada, Mexico, and other markets throughout the Americas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute account strategies to grow aftermarket parts, consumables, service, and maintenance revenue
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with existing industrial customers across a nationwide territory
  • Conduct regular customer-site visits to understand equipment usage, operational challenges, and upcoming needs
  • Identify opportunities involving replacement parts, hoses, filters, nozzles, consumables, maintenance products, and technical services
  • Protect existing business by identifying where competitors are attempting to enter the installed customer base
  • Increase customer loyalty and position the company as the preferred aftermarket partner
  • Provide customers with technically informed commercial recommendations
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities within both existing and prospective accounts
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Field Service, Sales, and Marketing to develop effective customer solutions
  • Monitor customer feedback, market trends, and competitive activity
  • Prepare forecasts, analyze sales trends, and report on account and territory performance
  • Help develop new aftermarket programs, processes, and growth initiatives
  • Maintain a consistently high level of customer service and follow-through

Ideal Background

  • Approximately 5+ years of industrial sales, technical sales, or account-management experience
  • Experience selling machinery, equipment, replacement parts, mechanical components, or technical solutions into manufacturing environments
  • Background in areas such as industrial machinery, automation, packaging equipment, converting equipment, material handling, pumps, valves, fluid handling, compressors, motors, bearings, filtration, OEM equipment, or related industrial products
  • Demonstrated success managing and expanding existing customer relationships
  • Ability to identify customer pain points and translate them into relevant technical and commercial solutions
  • Comfortable walking through manufacturing facilities and discussing industrial equipment with plant-level stakeholders
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills
  • Mechanically inclined and genuinely interested in learning how equipment operates
  • Able to independently organize a nationwide territory and extensive travel schedule
  • Entrepreneurial, action-oriented, and comfortable helping establish a new sales function
  • Experience with aftermarket parts or service sales is preferred but not required
  • Experience with Salesforce, SAP, CRM platforms, or similar business systems is beneficial

Travel and Location

This is a remote, field-based position requiring approximately 50–75% nationwide travel, generally including one to three overnight stays per week. Candidates should ideally live in Georgia or a surrounding state, including South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, or a similarly accessible location.

The position will require substantial initial training at the company’s Duluth, Georgia facility. During the first one to two months, the successful candidate may spend several days at a time in Duluth for:

  • Technical product education
  • Engineering interaction
  • Field-service exposure
  • Customer and market training
  • Ride-alongs
  • Product and application instruction

Candidates are not expected to know the company’s specialized equipment on day one. Comprehensive training will be provided to help an experienced industrial salesperson become technically credible in the market.

What Makes This Opportunity Different

  • Inherit an established customer base rather than starting with an empty territory
  • Sell into manufacturing facilities where the company’s equipment is already installed
  • Focus on valuable recurring parts, consumables, service, and maintenance revenue
  • Help build and shape a newly created aftermarket sales function
  • Manage a nationwide territory with significant independence
  • Potentially expand commercial responsibility throughout the Americas
  • Receive extensive technical, product, engineering, and field-service training
  • Build a long-term career with meaningful advancement potential
  • Receive a company vehicle that may also be used personally
  • Earn a competitive base salary plus a 25% quarterly incentive

The ideal candidate is an engaging, technically curious industrial salesperson who enjoys building long-term customer relationships, uncovering growth opportunities, and becoming the trusted person customers call when they need support.
