Senior Account Director of New Business in OH

Your Market Expertise and Thought Leadership

  • Nonprofit Sector Fluency: Maintain an expert-level understanding of current trends, best practices, and technological advancements within the nonprofit sector, particularly related to fundraising, digital engagement, and cause marketing.
  • Brand Ambassador: Act as a thought leader and external representative for the agency, enhancing our reputation and visibility within the nonprofit community.

Your Contributions

This pivotal role is responsible for driving significant growth by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities exclusively within the nonprofit sector. You will leverage your extensive experience in strategic planning, concept development, campaign strategy, and creative alignment to pitch compelling solutions that help nonprofit organizations achieve their mission-critical goals. This role requires a blend of sales acumen, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing the nonprofit world.

You will lead the charge in crafting, pitching, and executing leading fundraising strategies. Your impact will be felt across several key areas:

  • Strategic Leadership: Pitch and manage end-to-end fundraising tests and programs. You’ll develop concepts, campaign strategies, and creative alignment based on deep audience analysis.
  • Team Building: You will work in partnership with your sales and client account management colleagues to promote data-driven solutions and production services, which are essential for achieving the mission success of our nonprofit partners.
  • Financial Stewardship: As you work with our prospects and clients in their budget process, you will identify trends and assist in developing ROI models for acquisition, retention, and reactivation campaigns.
  • Data-Driven Partnership: You get to collaborate with our Strategy and Analytics teams on file audits, year-end reviews, and annual planning, ensuring our clients have clear line of sight to the expected and actual campaign performance.
  • Identify Target Organizations: Systematically research and identify high-potential nonprofit organizations that align with our service offerings and expertise.
  • Build and Manage Pipeline: You will develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified sales opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, attending relevant industry events.
  • Concept and Strategy Development: Lead the internal cross-functional team (Strategy, Creative, Media) to develop innovative concepts, compelling campaign strategies, and clear creative alignment tailored to the prospect’s unique needs.
  • Presentation and Pitching: You will serve as the lead presenter for all new business pitches, articulating the proposed strategy and solution with clarity, passion, and expertise to secure new partnerships.
  • Client Advocacy: Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted partner for the nonprofit’s program planning, strategy, and results.

Requirements

Background & Skills

We are looking for a seasoned professional who understands the non-profit landscape and the mechanics of direct mail at scale.

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in direct mail, fundraising, and selling to nonprofits (experience with large, national organizations is highly preferred).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Analytical Rigor: Outstanding ability to interpret campaign performance metrics and translate data into actionable planning.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and a high level of comfort with CRM/AI-driven platforms (experience with Innsight CRM or Squark AI is a major plus).
  • Communication: Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to command a room and influence executive-level stakeholders.
  • Motivation: Self-starter with a high level of autonomy and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Relatedness: Exceptional relationship-building and networking capabilities.
