Our client is a growing company in Boca Raton that is ready to take the next step forward. They are a sales and marketing organization with a large call-center, and are driven by their data. You will be joining a Technology team of 5 people that are responsible for both the internal IT and the AWS cloud environment.

They are looking for a Sr. AWS DevOps Engineer that has a passion for 'everything IT', somebody who is not afraid to figure things out, come up with ideas for improvement, and use their experience to become a key member of the team.


This role is based locally in Boca Raton, FL.


The ideal candidate will have tinkered, out of pure curiosity or because of previous experience, with:

- Windows Servers

- Linux Servers

- AWS

- DevOps Tools like Ansible, Jenkins and Git

- Databases like MySQL/MariaDB and MongoDB

- Multiple scripting languages (Powershell, Bash, Perl, Python, PHP, etc)

- Virtualization (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V, Proxmox, KVM, LXC, Docker/Kubernetes, etc)

- Weird, cool, useful and/or useless Open Source tools that caught your attention (let us know which)

- Monitoring tools like Nagios


The daily work for this role has a strong focus on Linux, AWS and scripting/automation.

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the availability of their hosted (AWS) and internal cloud environments, fully Linux based, including troubleshooting, debugging, scripting/automation, deployment, monitoring, etc.

* Act as the primary point of contact for LAN & WAN networking - (HP/Aruba, pfSense, fiber)

* Act as the escalation point for a handful of in-house Active Directory and Windows member servers.

* Learn & deploy new technologies being used by the Software Development team and contribute improvements.

* Automation using any commonly used scripting languages - At least 2 script languages REQUIRED!

* Execute monthly internal information security reports.

* Help junior team members troubleshoot issues and grow their skills.

Skills needed:

* Capacity and willingness to take the initiative in learning new technologies at a fast pace. Willingness and ability to adapt to whatever tools are available for solving problems.

* Strong analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communication skills in chat, email, phone and in-person.

* Strong commitment to customer service and service enablement.

* Experience with building and writing Wiki articles (internal) and standard operating procedures.

* Experience with common scripting languages – This is a critical skill!

* Experience with building and executing software deployment procedures and runbooks.

Qualifications:

* 5+ years of systems operations experience, strong Linux knowledge required. Being strong at Windows (Active Directory) as well is a plus.

* Familiarity with virtualization and cloud computing concepts: AWS is a must, Azure or other cloud experience will be helpful. Experience with Proxmox, KVM, Docker, LXC and/or other containerization technologies experience helpful.

* Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, PHP and Powershell.
