Seed Processing & Sample Technician (Contract)

Temporary Full-Time Approx. 8-Month Term (Potential Extension)

Hire Standard is recruiting a Seed Processing & Sample Technician for a full-time contract role with a Southern Alberta agricultural operation.

This is a hands-on role working with treated seed samples on a plant floor, supporting quality checks, data tracking, and production processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and handle treated seed samples
  • Perform basic quality checks and remove defects
  • Print tags and update process orders
  • Record and track sample data accurately
  • Operate small-scale production equipment
  • Support plant and seasonal agricultural activities

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma (required)
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Reliable and able to work independently
  • Comfortable with basic computer tasks

Assets:

  • Seed sampling or processing experience
  • QA or production experience
  • Agriculture background or education

We Offer:

  • 40 hours/week
  • Rotating shifts every 2 weeks:
  • Days: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
  • Afternoons: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required
  • Wage $23.00/ hour + shift premiums
