Search Engine Marketing Manager

Summary:

Work with the marketing team, agency and the finance team to ensure we are meeting performance targets (sales lift, impact to gross and payout) of marketing programs and plans. Responsible for the development of media strategies and investment allocation to effectively and efficiently meet marketing objectives. Includes leading the planning, bid strategy, analyzation/insights, and accounting in Search Engine Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the company in managing a successful, mature SEM program as well as building new programs from scratch, always looking for new areas to optimize
  • Manage a multi-million dollar paid search program that drive traffic to retail locations while sharing a vision for the future of paid search
  • Support Search Engine Marketing through analysis, optimization, creative development, competitive research and keyword selection
  • Monitor paid search trends and investigate deviations in performance to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization
  • Partner with others (Marketing Strategy, SEO and business leaders) to align traffic acquisition strategies with the goals of the overall business
  • Stay up to date of advances in the Search Engine Marketing industry; act as a subject matter expert (SME) to other teams
  • Analyze customer data (emphasis on 1st party data) and make recommendations on customer segments and help develop the communication strategy against each
  • Develop testing, e.g., A/B or multivariate tests, for key SEM performance levers such as ad copy and landing pages
  • Investigate and implement new technologies, services, automation capabilities, and/or vendor solutions that enhance SEM

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years of paid search experience, including multiple years running a multi-million dollar per month program, retail experience preferred
  • Experience managing PPC campaigns; with heavy emphasis on SEM shopping
  • Experience managing and leading team of 2+
  • Google certified; Knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Shopping, SEMrush, SimilarWeb, and Comscore
  • Excellent business and technical skills required
  • Strong communication skills (both written & verbal)
  • Extensive experience working closely with SEM Bidding Platforms
  • Proficient knowledge of web analytics platforms (eg. Adobe, Google Analytics)
  • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy
