Domestic Sales Trainer

Remote Central or Eastern Time Zone Preferred

Our client is a well-established and financially stable organization with years of success in the insurance industry. They are investing heavily in the continued growth of their independent distribution network and are seeking an experienced Sales Trainer to elevate the performance of their national sales organization.

This is a highly visible position reporting directly to executive leadership, offering the opportunity to shape training strategy, influence sales performance, and help build a scalable learning culture across an expanding distribution channel.

If you're passionate about developing sales professionals, enjoy working directly with independent agencies, and thrive in environments where education drives measurable business results, we'd love to speak with you.

What You'll Do

As the Domestic Sales Trainer, you'll serve as the primary resource for developing and delivering sales training initiatives that improve consultant performance, accelerate onboarding, strengthen compliance, and increase overall sales effectiveness.

You'll work closely with leadership, marketing, field managers, and independent agencies to create engaging learning experiences while continuously improving training programs through performance data and field feedback.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Training & Development

  • Design and facilitate engaging instructor-led, virtual, and on-demand training programs.

  • Develop curriculum focused on consultative selling, product education, compliance, and technology adoption.

  • Create training materials including presentations, webinars, videos, job aids, and interactive learning content.

  • Measure training effectiveness through reporting, participant feedback, and sales performance metrics.

  • Maintain accurate training records and continuously improve content based on business needs.

Field Development & Distribution Support

  • Travel to agency locations to observe, coach, and identify development opportunities.

  • Partner with agency leaders to strengthen training execution and improve overall sales performance.

  • Support "train-the-trainer" initiatives across the distribution network.

  • Review sales presentations and scripts to ensure compliance and consistency with company standards.

  • Analyze sales activity to identify trends and recommend targeted development strategies.

Coaching & Leadership

  • Partner with leadership to assess organizational training needs.

  • Mentor newly appointed consultants and help accelerate their productivity.

  • Foster a culture centered around continuous learning, accountability, and professional development.

  • Serve as a trusted resource for field leadership and independent sales partners.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing to develop engaging educational content and training campaigns.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure training initiatives align with strategic business objectives.

  • Manage relationships with outside training vendors when applicable.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, adult learning strategies, and emerging sales technologies.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who naturally combines strong presentation skills with real-world sales experience. The ideal candidate enjoys coaching others, simplifying complex concepts, and helping sales professionals perform at a higher level.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • 3-6+ years of corporate sales training, field training, or sales enablement experience.

  • Strong background supporting consultative sales organizations.

  • Experience training independent sales channels, agencies, brokers, MGAs, IMOs, or similar distribution models is highly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of life insurance products and the independent insurance marketplace.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience designing adult learning programs using multiple instructional methods.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM or learning management technologies.

  • Ability to travel approximately 20-30% domestically.

Why This Opportunity?

This is more than a traditional training role. You'll have direct influence on national sales performance while helping shape the future of an established organization's independent distribution strategy.

You'll join a leadership team that values innovation, professional development, and continuous improvement—and you'll have the autonomy to build programs that make a measurable impact.

If you're looking for a role where your training expertise directly contributes to business growth, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.

This version keeps the client fully confidential while positioning the opportunity the way Crucial Hire typically markets executive and strategic searches—impact-focused, candidate-centric, and written to appeal to passive talent rather than active job seekers.
