About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a specialized analytical instruments business that is part of a large global organization with significant scale and resources. This division supports customers across pharma, process development, scale-up, specialty chemical, academic, DOD, and DOE environments with a portfolio that includes particle size analyzers, FTIR, Raman, spectrometers, sample prep, calorimeters, and chemical reactors. This Sales Representative role covers Northern California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington and is open due to a replacement. It is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys being in front of customers, working with technical products, and owning a large territory. This role is especially appealing to a sales professional with a science background or prior lab experience who wants to sell a full line of high-value instruments in a consultative environment.
What You’ll Do
Drive direct sales across the Pacific Northwest territory for a full line of analytical instruments, with some products priced up to $150,000. You’ll spend significant time at customer sites, building relationships and supporting technical sales conversations across a range of industries. The role requires consistent travel and strong customer engagement. You’ll work closely with customers in pharma and process development, while also supporting accounts in specialty chemical, academic, DOD, and DOE settings. Success in this role comes from staying close to the customer, understanding technical needs, and representing the full product portfolio well.
Who You Are
You are a sales professional who is comfortable in technical conversations and confident in front of customers. You enjoy being out in the field, managing a broad territory, and building credibility with people who rely on specialized instruments in their work. This role is a strong fit for someone who combines sales drive with scientific curiosity. Prior lab experience can be especially helpful, as can the ability to connect product value to real customer applications.
Preferred Experience & Attributes
- At least 3 years of sales experience
- Science or related degree preferred, including Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science
- Prior lab experience preferred before moving into sales
- Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time
- Strong ability to work directly with customers in the field
- Comfortable selling technical instruments across multiple industries
Why This Role Matters
This role directly supports customer growth and territory coverage across an important region for the business. The right person will help expand relationships, drive instrument sales, and support customers using advanced tools in research, development, and scale-up environments.
