Guided Search Partners (GSP)
Guided Search Partners is an Executive Search firm built on Trust, Transparency, Specialization, and Long-term Relationships. We connect high-performing professionals with organizations that value people, performance, and growth—helping leaders find roles where they can make an impact and build meaningful careers.
About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a long-established, German-based organization whose roots span more than 100 years. The company serves customers across food and agriculture, pharmaceuticals, forensics, and materials—supporting critical testing and research with a broad suite of elemental analysis instruments.
This is a territory-based role covering accounts across Idaho, Montana, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, and the Kansas City area. The position is open as a replacement, and discretion is important throughout the process.
The portfolio includes approximately 15 different instruments used for elemental analysis—covering areas such as nitrogen, sulfur, inorganic analysis, TOC, OES, water analysis, and stable isotope workflows. Typical system values range from $50K–$120K, with certain mass spec systems in the $250K–$400K range.
What You’ll Do
- Own and manage a large, multi-state territory with a mix of established accounts and growth opportunities.
- Represent a portfolio of elemental analysis instruments across multiple analytical applications (nitrogen, sulfur, inorganic analysis, TOC, OES, water analysis, and stable isotope).
- Align customer needs with the right instrument solutions in a capital-equipment sales environment, where typical system values range from $50K to $120K and select mass spec systems reach $250K to $400K.
- Maintain a professional, low-profile approach as this role transitions from the current incumbent.
Who You Are
- A relationship-first professional who builds trust with customers and earns credibility through consistency and follow-through.
- Comfortable learning and discussing technical instrumentation used in elemental analysis and related lab workflows.
- Organized and self-directed—able to manage priorities across a wide geography with multiple customer segments.
- Discreet, thoughtful, and collaborative, especially during periods of change.
You’re the type who enjoys connecting the dots between what a customer is trying to measure and the tools that make it possible—and you take pride in doing that work the right way.
Preferred Experience & Attributes
- Experience selling, supporting, or working with analytical instruments used in laboratory settings (particularly elemental analysis).
- Familiarity with applications such as nitrogen and sulfur analysis, inorganic analysis, TOC, OES, water analysis, and stable isotope workflows.
- Comfort operating in a capital-equipment environment with system values spanning $50K–$400K.
- Strong communication skills and a consultative style that translates complex solutions into clear value for customers.
Why This Role Matters
This territory has meaningful reach across the Mountain West and Plains, supporting customers who rely on accurate, repeatable measurement in regulated and high-stakes environments. Your work helps ensure the right analytical tools are in place across diverse industries—strengthening long-term customer relationships and supporting continued growth.
Compensation includes a base salary range of $80K–$100K, plus typical commissions of $30K–$40K and additional bonuses. Commissions are paid quarterly once 80% attainment is met and are capped at 130%. A $6K annual car allowance, mileage reimbursement, and full benefits are also included.
If you enjoy a broad territory, a technically interesting product suite, and a customer base that spans essential industries, this is a chance to step into a role with real impact and momentum.
