Position: Sales Manager
Reports to: President/CEO
The Sales Manager defines, plans, and implements the commercial strategy for all current and potential customers in order to ensure Company’s short-, mid-, and long-term profitability by maintaining and improving revenues and market share in North America. This leadership role builds and communicates a vision, demonstrates integrity, leads through relationships, and promotes teamwork while focusing on results. This position manages an existing team associated with direct interactions to the customers, as well as growing the department to effectively support the increasing sales in the coming years.
Key Job Responsibilities
•Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.•Responsible for negotiating, quoting, and obtaining new business as targeted and ensure customer’s business sourcing processes are followed.•Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.•Leads activities and staff for all customer-facing functions including, but not limited to: account management, project engineering, project management, design, and sales. This will involve direct responsibility for program management activities related to APQP.•Liaison between sales department and other sales-related units (Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, etc.) •Maintain and improve Company’s profitability through strategic sales planning and management.•Coordinate sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within the sales organization.•Proactively monitor and strive to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales organization’s efforts. As needed, coordinate planning activities with other functions within the Company.•Assess the competitive landscape and implement changes to the sales program in response to competitors’ changes.•Monitor and evaluate emerging business opportunities with a view to positioning Company’s sales resources and technical capabilities accordingly.•Prepare and present periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed customer base expansion.•Analyze trends and results in the industry in order to further develop Company’s market strategies ensuring continued growth throughout North America.•Lead, motivate, and energize staff using a supportive and collaborative approach; assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and monitor and evaluate results.•Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.•Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
Accountabilities and Performance Measures:
•Achievement of sales, profit, and strategic objectives for products as defined by Company management.•Accountable for the implementation of sales organization’s quotas and performance objectives.•Accountable for the thorough implementation of sales organization-impacting initiatives.•Responsible for the efficient allocation of technology, support, and training resources impacting the automotive sales organization.•Accountable for accurate and on-time reporting essential for the automotive sales organization’s effectiveness.•Achievement of strategic objectives defined by Company management.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Engineering or Business administration required.
•2+ years’ experience in sales management preferred (preferably within a manufacturing company).
•5+ years’ experience in commodity parts sales required.
•5+ years’ experience in automotive sales within past ten years preferred.
•Ability to negotiate technical and commercial issues with customers (higher and mid-levels) in NAFTA (US,Canada, and Mexico) and global locations.
•Excellent leadership, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
•Strong teamwork, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
•Be a problem solver with a “get-it-done” attitude and strong self-motivational attributes.

Physical and Mental Demands:
•Regular and punctual attendance with ability to stay motivated with a good attitude.
•Work primarily is performed in a fast-paced, production environment and may be exposed to conditions(e.g. heat/cold) normally encountered in production areas.
