Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President of a leading privately held transportation and logistics services organization. The company specializes in intermodal services, freight management, brokerage, and logistics. Handles unusual and specialized needs of their customers in addition to transportation.
Responsible for acquiring new business, utilizing freight brokerage experience to make informed decisions that align the team with corporate strategy to achieve division goals. Will plan, execute and perform duties throughout the full sales cycle. The Sales Manager will be responsible for coaching, training, mentoring and creating KPIs for a team of 4-5 team members that will support new customer and carrier development, grow existing business, strengthen offered services and expand the carrier network. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offerings, motivate and lead a staff, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • Freight Brokerage Sales, Business Development, and Account Management (5+ years)
  • Modes of transportation (i.e. Truckload, Flatbed, Intermodal, Temperature Controlled)
  • Strong Negotiation Ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity)
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies
  • Computer literate: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Residence: Orland, IL
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: College Graduate – BA or BS
  • Sales Management – Hire, Train, Coach, Mentor (3+ years)
