We are seeking a proactive, strategic Sales Manager specializing in Corrugated Packaging to drive our sales team towards exceeding our profitability and volume growth targets. This role demands a compelling leader with profound market insights into the corrugated industry, skilled in both strategizing and operational execution. You will be steering the ship, crafting impactful strategies in collaboration with the Business Unit Sales Manager, honing our sales processes, training exceptional team members, and directly negotiating big deals to enhance our market footprint. Salary: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the sales team to exceed volume and profit goals through new account development, growth in existing accounts, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Develop the sales strategy for the business unit in partnership with the Business Unit Sales Manager to articulate the strategic goals and direction of the business unit.
- Implement business unit strategies through effective processes, training, tools, and KPI alignment.
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline, manage sales forecasts, and ensure the team meets growth objectives.
- Close and grow strategic accounts through targeted sales strategies and insightful customer engagement.
- Analyze market data to prepare tailored pricing and sales strategies that align with profitability goals and production capabilities.
- Negotiate large customer contracts, facilitating formal agreement development with collaboration from Sales, Management, and Legal teams.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and remove obstacles impacting team performance.
- Mentor and onboard new team members ensuring quick adaptability and effectiveness within the team.
- Drive talent retention and motivation initiatives, fostering an environment of continuous professional growth and engagement.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- High School diploma or G.E.D is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of sales experience, with a preference for experience in the manufacturing or corrugated industry.
- A minimum of 5 years in sales leadership roles, with documented success in meeting and exceeding sales objectives.
- Strong proficiency in using CRM tools (such as Salesforce), order entry systems, and various reporting tools to track sales and customer engagement.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven strategic planning and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the corrugated packaging industry and its market dynamics.
- Experience in managing key customer relationships and large contracts.
