Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the sales leader for a national transportation provider.

The Sales Executive – Local LTL is a hunter responsible for outside sales and marketing to local LTL and expedited providers that focus on local and same-day delivery. The goal is to generate new business revenues. Identifies new markets and customer leads and develops a strong sales pipeline. Onboards new customers to technology platform, ensuring a smooth transition. Grows load counts with current customers. Bring solutions to the table for closing new business, knowing when to escalate. Communicates with department managers to assess and distribute current information on the development and needs of customers. Coordinates complete sales cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, and presentation(s), start-up, and customer service follow-up after the sale. Acts as a representative of the company at industry events to network with industry leaders and prospect possible business opportunities. Advocates for customers and help drive a customer service mentality within the company. Challenge is to increase revenues and improve profitability. Travel 25 %.

Background Required:
  • Transportation LTL or Expedited sales, local, same day delivery (3 years)
  • Proven hunter sales mentality
  • Sales tools to generate prospects & new business (i.e., ZoomInfo)
  • Time & territory management reporting process
  • Proven track record of producing profitable growth
  • Demonstrated ability closing new business
  • Pricing logic & analysis
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Residence: Los Angeles, CA (Home office environment)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
