RA’s client is a leading multinational high-tech photonics company that develops, manufactures and sells laser systems for precision applications in research & industry. They are a market leader in the field of optical precision measurements with light and lasers, based on Nobel Prize-winning frequency comb technology. Other stars in their product portfolio include ultrastable lasers, Terahertz spectroscopy systems, and femtosecond lasers.
Quantum technology and the application of systems in Quantum 2.0 is essential to our client. Their technology is uniquely positioned to address applications in the Quantum World, such as quantum computing, optical clocks, or earthbound and space borne metrology. Their optical frequency combs combined with their ultrastable laser products enable complete systems that are essential instruments when purest optical signals are required. Their products can be found in numerous leading research institutions. The company is headquartered in Europe, with multiple remote locations for sales and service across North America. This sales engineer position will join a small but growing US team that will have a significant and measurable impact on revenue and market penetration of our client’s technology.
To strengthen their team, we are looking for a Sales Engineer focusing on solutions for quantum systems and frequency combs technology. Customers will include leading research institutions, national labs, academia, and R&D applications within industry. This is a hybrid or remote position with a preferred location in the Denver region, but other US West locations may be acceptable.
Essential Position Functions:
- Pursue new business opportunities and increase business with existing customers
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers at leading R&D institutions
- Engage with customers to identify challenges and deliver tailored, next-generation technology solutions that drive real-world impact and innovation.
- Collaborate closely with product management and engineering teams to design and implement customized technical solutions.
- Provide quotations, book and close orders.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer and market needs, with a strong focus on quantum technology.
- Foster long-term relationships through exceptional customer support and proactive engagement.
- Represent the company and showcase our innovations at industry trade fairs, technical conferences, and customer events.
Our expectations:
- 3+ years of experience in Technical Sales, Sales Management or Business Development.
- PhD. in atomic, optical, quantum physics, and/or 3 years of related academic or industry experience
- Non-Ph.D. also considered based on experience
- Hands-on experience with any of the following: frequency combs, CW lasers, ultrafast/precision spectroscopy, ion trapping, Laser cooling and trapping, Narrow linewidth lasers, laser frequency stabilization, Optics
- You enjoy working with people and are able to move confidently in diverse cultures.
- Must be a US citizen or US permanent resident
- Willing to travel ~30% including domestic and international
