Position Responsibilities: Reporting to the local Branch Manager for a non-asset based international and domestic freight forwarder and customs brokerage company. Our client has been in business for over 60 years and employs nearly 200 people in the United States.
The Sales Account Executive is responsible for increasing gross profit and market share of international freight forwarding business in the United States via strategic, client focused, selling of all products and services. Coordinates complete sales cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, proposal preparation & presentation(s), contract signing, start-up, and customer service follow-up after the sale. Communicates regularly with local branch and maintains relationships with clients and internal staff to stay informed on the latest news and destinations that may be of importance in the future. Prepares all necessary paperwork including expense and sales reports in a timely manner. Coordinates special projects as assigned by manager and performs other duties as required or directed.
International freight forwarding sales (3-5 years minimum)
Multimodal (e.g., air, ocean, import, export)
Proven track record of success with client transfer possibility
Time, territory & contact management (e.g., CRM)
Excellent knowledge of local markets
Bids, proposals, & negotiations
Travel up to 75%
Computer systems: Internet & Microsoft suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
