We are searching for a Safety Director to join our client's growing team.

As the Safety Director, you will be responsible for:
  • Work closely with division leadership to develop and support a culture of team engagement and ownership in Safety
  • Communicate/Interact to ensure understanding and OSHA
  • Develop methods to identify and remove hazards
  • Supervise and develop Health and Safety personnel
  • Develop, organize, and provide safety training
  • Compile, review and report injury/illness statistics
  • Conduct safety visits, audits and observations throughout the plant site
  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct division safety activities and initiatives
  • Positively and effectively interact to promote a culture of safety and achieve an injury free workplace
  • Be a contributing and integral member of company's local, regional, product group and corporate-wide safety teams
Qualifications
  • Four-year degree in related field or equivalent experience in a Health and Safety Role
  • Related safety experience in manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with occupational safety and health standards in an industrial setting
  • Must be willing to work required hours and to be on-call in emergency situations 24/7
  • Must be willing and able to travel several times per year, up to a week at a time for safety meetings, and audits

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Bachelor degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in leading and developing others
  • Working experience in implementing EHS regulations, conducting incident investigations, interacting with regulatory agencies and external organizations, and managing cross functional teams
  • Technical expertise in the EHS functions as well as technical writing and business communications
  • OSHA VPP experience in an industrial setting
