Safety Director — Transportation Infrastructure — San Antonio Metro, TX

Our client, an established specialty contractor installing traffic signals, roadway lighting, signing, and intelligent transportation systems across Texas, is hiring a Safety Director to own the company-wide safety program — a field-forward leadership role across active roadway and highway work zones statewide.

What You'll Do

Own, implement, and continuously improve the corporate safety program across all Texas operations
Lead work-zone and traffic-control safety: TMUTCD-compliant setups, flagging operations, and high-visibility work near live traffic
Conduct jobsite audits and field visits; lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action
Manage OSHA recordkeeping, reporting, and agency relationships; keep EMR and incident trends moving the right direction
Build and deliver safety training for field crews, foremen, and project leadership; oversee fleet and equipment safety

What They're Looking For

Substantial construction safety leadership experience — roadway, highway, utility, or electrical-infrastructure work strongly preferred
Deep OSHA knowledge; work-zone traffic control expertise (TMUTCD) is a major plus
Certifications such as CSP, CHST, or OSHA 500 preferred
A leader who is respected in the field — comfortable in the truck, on the shoulder, and in the boardroom
Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel throughout Texas

Compensation

Base salary to $150,000 depending on experience, with a growing, well-backed specialty contractor
