We are searching for a Safety Director to join our client’s growing team.

Basic duties of the Safety Director include:
  • Coordinating safety as the #1 priority throughout the division (safety culture, performance and safety systems)
  • Interpret and practically apply regulatory and consensus standards (OSHA, NFPA, NRC, etc.)
  • Develop and update policies and procedures
  • Conduct and document incident investigations, safety inspections/audits
  • Develop action plans and follow up
  • Conduct safety training
  • Participate in emergency response teams and lead our health professionals
  • Champion and direct NC Star certification and other internal safety programs
  • Spend time on the manufacturing floor to obtain and understanding of operations for their area and build rapport
Qualifications for the position include:
  • 3+ years of proven safety related experience in an industrial environment
  • Proven knowledge of Occupation, Safety and Health regulations
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and be a workplace safety leader
  • Effectively communicate ideas and tasks individually and in group settings through verbal/written means
  • Work with all levels of the organization to solve problems to make effective and timely decisions in a demanding environment
  • Self-starter to focus on details, organize, plan and lead multiple activities and projects
  • Strong MS Office Suite skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with directing and organizing to achieve maximum results
Preferred Qualifications include:
  • BS Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent
  • First Responder / EMT certification or willingness to obtain
  • Industrial Hygiene, Behavior-Based Safety and Worker's Compensation experience
  • Safety training experience and certification (30-hour, fall protection, LOTOTO, etc.)
  • 45001 and VPP experience. GSP or CSP certification or equivalent
