Descripción del Puesto

Ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff by implementing, coordinating, and monitoring comprehensive health, safety, and emergency response policies and practices. This position plays a critical role in promoting a transparent, informed, and continuously improving culture of safety within a multicultural residential educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Institutional Safety Management

  • Lead and coordinate the Safety Committee, fostering proactive and collaborative safety initiatives.

  • Define annual safety goals with the Deputy Head and present quarterly and annual progress reports.

  • Conduct internal and external safety assessments to identify risks and improvement areas.

  • Evaluate risks for new activities proposed within the College environment and coordinate corrective actions for incidents.

  • Develop and implement the College Safety Plan in alignment with institutional health and safety regulations.

  • Patrol the College grounds to ensure adherence to policies, deter loitering, and minimize damage or theft.

Occupational Health

  • Administer and oversee the Occupational Health Office and Commission.

  • Ensure legal compliance by verifying workplace conditions and documentation related to health, safety, and environmental standards.

  • Validate workplace risk assessments and implement preventive and corrective measures.

  • Coordinate with external consultants and HR to implement occupational risk prevention and ergonomics programs.

Emergency Planning and Management

  • Ensure the development and execution of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan, the Occupational Health Plan, and the Waste Management Plan.

  • Supervise the Emergency Brigade and lead periodic drills and inspections of emergency equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, first aid kits).

  • Provide ongoing health, safety, and environmental training for staff.

Health Promotion and Safety Culture

  • Promote a culture of safety through training, awareness sessions, and open dialogue with staff and students.

  • Collaborate with the Educational Director and other departments to integrate safety practices into campus activities.

  • Facilitate effective communication between the College and families on safety-related matters.


Job Requirements

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety Engineering, or a related field.

  • Certifications or training in:

    • First Aid

    • Fire prevention and basic fire extinguisher use

    • Risk management

    • Adventure tourism (preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety, occupational health, or risk prevention roles.

Languages

  • Advanced proficiency English (B2+ or higher).

Additional Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in residential educational institutions, hospitality, or tourism.

  • Familiarity with environmental and sustainability programs.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with government entities, suppliers, community members, and external consultants.
