SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT- INSURANCE
Solutions Architect
Key objective, focus areas of the role:
- Assist/direct strategies around moving our client to a “paperless” environment, ensuring all business requirements are considered, all components are well integrated, and recommendations are consistent with and leverage stated target architecture principles/strategies, and consider the our client’s “big picture” and impacts on the long-term environment
- Focus areas and components to consider include intake (scanning, email, telephone, etc.), document management, workflow, telephony, web/device integration, internal touch points within our clients and external touch points/integration with Brokers, etc.
- Key business line focus/priority is Claims, although needs of other business lines in the broader context of the above focus areas and components will also need to be considered
Key Requisites for the role:
- Architect is to be knowledgeable in all technical areas noted above to be able to drive/direct and define the Architecture recommendations, and identify potential products where applicable. While self-sufficient, the Architect may bring in additional people who are experts in specific domains, if needed for consultation for short periods.
- Architect must be self-directing to move the process forward, although will report to a PM who will assist
- Knowledge of insurance business/process would be a preferred asset
Environment
Systems environment includes Java-based web applications, legacy mainframe systems, end-user client computing, and business intelligence.
Current technologies include WebSphere/Oracle, AIX, Java, J2EE, CICS/COBOL, z/OS. Environment includes Operational Data Stores and Data Warehouse. Newer applications include Guidewire/Java components
Multi-year plan is to replace core applications with best of breed solutions, guided by overall Target Enterprise Architecture
