Senior Market Development & Territory Manager
Our client is a well-established distributor and marketer of various crop input and science based, technologically advanced agricultural products. They have been successfully operating in Western Canada for over 20 years now.
Known for challenging the status quo, our client works with key manufacturers and strategically develops and markets agronomically advanced solutions through retailers in the Canadian Marketplace as well as with leading edge agronomists, ag consultants, and regional growers.
Their goal is to simplify ag science and explain the benefits of introducing proven agronomic practices and products in the context of farm operations – and to demonstrate the impact on consumer’s bottom line with defined ROI’s through research-based approaches to delivery.
Due to the market opportunities that present themselves in Saskatchewan, they are seeking 2 experienced Senior Market Development & Territory Managers based in Saskatchewan.
WHY CONSIDER THIS SENIOR MARKET DEVELOPMENT & TERRITORY MANAGER ROLE?
Our client is an established, successful agricultural marketing company. They have experienced, knowledgeable and long-term staff members in their company.
While they are now over 24 years old, they retain an entrepreneurial spirit which allows for innovation and out of the box thinking to solve problems.
Currently there are 16 staff on the team. The successful candidate will be the very first in Saskatchewan so there are a lot of untapped opportunities to pursue and unlimited potential for exponential market growth over the next 2 – 5 years.
ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR MARKET DEVELOPMENT & TERRITORY MANAGER ROLE:
- Be the liaison between existing sales and marketing professionals and identify product development opportunities across Saskatchewan.
- Effectively market all product lines by means of direct sales calls, increasing our client’s brand awareness, cumulating in new Saskatchewan sales.
- Be the technical resource, by interacting with key influencers (researchers, consultants, growers, distribution staff) to demonstrate technical expertise and opportunity spot potential new distribution networks.
- Conduct demonstration trials for sales representatives and customers.
- Assist in the assessment of product performance issues and resolve accordingly.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE FOR THE SENIOR MARKET DEVELOPMENT & TERRITORY MANAGER ROLE:
- Sc. Agriculture, or Agriculture Business Diploma
- Master of Science degree in Agriculture considered an asset
- Extensive Agronomy, Soil Health, Fertility, Biologicals & Plant Enhancement Technology experience coupled with a track record in sales without a completed degree or diploma will also be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales & marketing experience in the Ag Sector and ideally more than 10 years.
- Successful experience expanding sales in retail and wholesale marketplaces.
- Previous experience covering a large territory with extensive travel is considered an asset.
- Proven self-starter able to take initiative and conduct himself or herself in a professional manner with little direct supervision.
- Must exhibit strong inter-personal skills.
- Strong team player that thrives in the role of being the lead technical expert supporting customer sales needs in their assigned region.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with experience in translating detailed scientific information into practical decision-ready information for non-technical clients.
