Our client is seeking a Manager, SEC Reporting, who will report to the Director of Financial Reporting and is based in Arlington, VA. This role is cross-functional within the company and requires excellent communication with stakeholders across all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize and manage multiple activities in a timely manner and with a high degree of accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the SEC reporting processes, which includes preparation, review and filing of financial statements with the SEC, including statements of cash flow, footnote disclosures, and management’s discussion and analysis
- Complete disclosure checklists to ensure financial statements and footnote disclosures are in compliance with applicable requirements
- Review financial statement tie out packages
- Review SEC XBRL tagging for completeness and accuracy
- Provide technical support on accounting disclosure issues to ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements
- Monitor and enhance internal controls for internal and external reporting processes, including the review of the Company’s process narratives and policies around disclosure controls and internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting or disclosure requirements in coordination with the technical accounting team and external auditors
- Assist with the company’s review of contracts for accounting implications to determine reporting and disclosure requirements
- Prepare executive management financial statement review materials
- Other duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current CPA designation
- 7+ years of related experience (3+ years of SEC experience)
- Strong knowledge of SEC reporting and US GAAP
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- In-depth understanding of current reporting matters
- Superior attention to detail and the ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Experience with Workiva Wdesk platform is preferred
- XBRL experience is preferred
- Discretion in dealing with confidential materials
