SEC Accountant

Our client, an industry leader with a 70 year track record of growth and profitability, is seeking a highly self-motivated individual to join their accounting team as a SEC Accountant. This position is located in Reston, VA and will be responsible for SEC Reporting and Corporate Accounting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with the preparation of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Proxy Statements and Annual Reports, including preparation or review of all disclosure schedules and reports for compliance with SEC and FASB rules and regulations.
• Prepare required Section 16 reports (Forms 3, 4, 5) and Form 144 for the reporting of Executive Officer and Director stock transactions.
• Assist with research and implementation of new, pending and existing SEC regulations and FASB pronouncements and interpretations on a company-wide basis.
• Continuously monitor industry developments with respect to new FASB pronouncements and SEC regulations for potential application relative to the company.
• Prepare the company consolidation each month.
• Assist with financial reporting for the retirement plans.
• Special projects such as supporting the company’s outside CPA's in connection with annual audits and corporate reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-2 years of experience in public accounting or in a corporate SEC reporting role.
• CPA is a plus.
• Attention to detail, including accuracy and efficiency is of utmost importance in this role.
• Strong planning and organization will aid in your success in this role.
