Job Description

SAP Transportation Management (TM) consultant to join the Wave-1 field team for Client's S/4HANA rollout. You will work onsite at distribution sites across the Midwest, helping transportation and logistics teams get ready for go-live, supporting them through cutover, and stabilizing operations afterward.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Wave-1 sites onsite through readiness, cutover, go-live, and hypercare
  • Triage, analyze, and resolve TM issues in a live environment; perform root-cause analysis and drive permanent fixes
  • Configure and adjust TM functionality, including order-based and delivery-based transportation requirements, freight units, freight orders and bookings, planning and optimization, carrier selection and tendering, and charge calculation / freight settlement
  • Support site-specific transportation setup, including routes, carriers, dock scheduling, and load planning
  • Support integration between TM and S/4HANA (SD, MM, LE, EWM, FI/CO) and external interfaces (carriers, EDI, telematics)
  • Conduct fit-gap analysis on site-specific requirements and recommend solutions within the approved design
  • Execute unit, integration, and regression testing; support user acceptance testing
  • Train and coach dispatchers and logistics users before and after go-live, and build strong working relationships with site teams
  • Document configuration changes, fixes, and site learnings to improve the template for later waves

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on SAP TM functional experience (embedded or standalone)
  • At least one full-lifecycle implementation, including go-live and hypercare support
  • Solid TM configuration skills and understanding of transportation planning and execution
  • Working knowledge of S/4HANA logistics and order-to-cash integration
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues under time pressure in a live environment
  • Strong communication and soft skills; comfortable working directly with dispatchers, drivers' coordinators, and site leadership
  • Willingness to travel about 75% to client sites in Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota

Nice to Have:

  • S/4HANA TM experience in distribution, manufacturing, or building products
  • Experience with freight settlement, BRFplus, PPF, or carrier collaboration
  • Private fleet or multi-mode (LTL, FTL) transportation planning
  • Experience with multi-site or wave-based rollouts
  • SAP TM certification
