Job Description

BCTG’s direct client is looking for an SAP Functional PP/QM Sr. Functional Analyst with the following expereince:

  • With application design, configuration, implementation, support and upgrading of SAP Production Planning (PP) and Quality Management (QM) modules
  • Working experience with 3rd party software applications including shop floor execution systems (DSI, Aspen SCM, etc.) and quality management systems like LIMS
  • Working with the business community to identify business and data requirements, perform systems analysis and design activities, and support systems development, testing, and delivery efforts
  • End-to-end SAP QM (Quality Management) implementation, including hands-on design and configuration.
  • Configuration and working experience with QM Master data like Inspection plan, Material specification, quality Catalog, code, code groups, Inspection characteristics, Inspection Method and sampling procedure.
  • Configuration and hands on experience with quality inspection lot creation, recording Inspection results, usage decision, defects recording and Sample management.
  • Configuration and hands on experience with quality certificates, certificate of analysis, quality notification, inspection lot creation, recording Inspection results, usage decision, defects recording and Sample management.
  • Facilitate the implementation and support of SAP Quality Management
  • Perform detailed analysis of complex business process requirements and provide appropriate system solutions; identify, interpret, validate and document business requirements.
  • Design, customize, configure and testing of the module.
  • Document functional designs, test cases and results.
  • Physical inventory; Capacity planning; Repetitive manufacturing; Production Orders; Process Orders; BOM’s/Routings; Master recipe.

This position will be responsible for leading all phases of the system development life-cycle process for SAP PP and QM modules and other associated business applications. Applicants must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and prior experience with leading and managing the delivery/execution of SAP PP and QM modules. Applicants must have experience in project management fundamentals and standards.

Project Responsibilities

  • Recommend improvements and solutions which would improve business efficiency, quality and/or processes while maximizing SAP or other Business Application’s functionality
  • Facilitate, organize, and lead meetings with business users to document new business requirements
  • Develop process models based on business requirements in order to determine the completeness of the information and process components.
  • Design and develop functional/technical specifications and assist developers in the preparation of the technical specifications (e.g., describing business practices, business impact, providing technical detail e.g., table names, field names, etc.) to ensure the solution meets the business requirements.
  • Configure and modify SAP to meet business requirements using Best Practices.
  • Design and develop test plans (e.g., test objectives, test cases, test data, test scripts) for executing unit, integration, system or acceptance testing in order to ensure the solution meets the business requirements.

  • Research and resolve SAP level 3 help desk incidents in compliance with service level agreements.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service by resolving problems quickly and effectively.
  • Provide training/documentation to SAP business users as needed.

  • Possess SAP functional competencies in the Production Planning and Quality Management modules
  • Thorough understanding of SAP implementation methodologies and configuration methods
  • Additional skills using EDI/IDoc, SAPScript, or ABAP debugging is a major plus
  • Ability to work independently, as a member of a team, or as team lead
  • Strong understanding of application support principles and practices with a focus on customer service
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Good written and oral communication skills

Local to Houston or relocation necessary. The current work policy is to be in person at least three days in the office per week unless otherwise specified by management.

Duration: 7/2022 – 12/31/2022 with possible extensions. (This position is a temporary replacement for an employee who left the company and could be a contract to hire possibility or a long-term contract depending on the amount of time required to fill the open employee position.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Minimal, or no travel required to plant facilities. If required however, the work at a plant facility may be in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
