As a Rotating Equipment Engineer at our chemical processing facility, you will play a crucial role in the upkeep and improvement of our plant's machinery. With your expertise, you will lead both maintenance and reliability assessments that ensure operational continuity and efficiency. Your responsibilities will hinge on enhancing system reliability, implementing strategic repairs, and managing documentation and safety protocols associated with rotating equipment. This role is key to our commitment to driving innovation within our processes and maintaining our high safety and operational standards.
Salary: $140,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership on maintenance, assessment, and monitoring of all rotating equipment at the plant.
- Develop both long-term and short-term improvement plans targeting the reliability and efficiency of plant rotating equipment.
- Lead reliability studies for existing equipment and recommend upgrades or replacements to senior management.
- Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to increase equipment lifecycle while reducing operational costs.
- Offer expertise in job plan development, troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, and defining repairs for service equipment according to recognized standards and guidelines.
- Oversee contracts related to rotating equipment including annual seal consignment programs.
- Perform failure analysis and drive initiatives to extend Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) for key systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation critical to the safe and efficient operation of rotating equipment.
- Support Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives, ensuring compliance and promoting continuous improvement within the team.
- Maintain effective communication across multiple teams, providing technical insights and reporting on equipment status to stakeholders.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the design, maintenance, and reliability of rotating equipment, primarily in chemical process industries.
- Proficient in reliability tools such as RCFA, FMEA, and Weibull analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of RAGAGEPs, including ASME, API, ASTM, and ANSI standards.
- Experience with statistical analysis and documentation management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional engineering license or other certifications related to equipment reliability or maintenance.
- Prior leadership experience in a similar role within the chemical or petrochemical industries.
- Familiarity with advanced diagnostic tools and software used for equipment analysis and troubleshooting.
- Experience in implementing cost-reduction initiatives through strategic maintenance planning.
